IC PERMISSIONS
PHYSICAL AFFECTION .. If you're close to him, you can be physically affectionate. He's not affectionate beyond a hug with anybody he's not in a relationship with.
ROMANCE .. Alaric has gotten burned, but that said, if he's into somebody, he's into somebody, and he has no problem showing that. But, he's scarred. Deeply. Also a very powerful vampire if you're into that. His now alive ex-girlfriend is here, but, they're nowhere near that deep of a reconciliation. And what he is will play into her reaction.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE .. Open. Very open. Be warned for what you sign up for, and OOC we'll always discuss the logistics. There isn't any science behind how, say, a TVD vampire would be as fast as, Buffy Summers, but, let's talk.

TELEPATHY & MENTAL CONTACT.. Go ahead. He may be fascinated. He may act rashly. Vampires minds are just as susceptible to humans. Unless they're on vervain.
PSYCHOLOGICAL VIOLENCE.. At its heart, TVD is still a horror show. So, I'm open to it.
DEBATE.. Sure. He's a professor and he's studied history of all kinds. He likes a lively debate.
DEATH.. Unless the mods say otherwise, his death won't be permanent. If staked with something wooden, he will go grey and calcify - but, eventually, he'll come to, pull the stake out of his heart and probably go after you. :') And, if you get close enough, a broken neck will at least knock him out.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS.. Nothing's really off the table. He doesn't easily get offended. You probably shouldn't badmouth people he loves. Or, go after them.

AVAILABILITY.. Some weeknights. Definitely weekends. But, it also varies. I'm a social creature with a night job two nights out of seven and I work full time ontop of that. But, I always get to it eventually.
BACKTAGGING.. Yes. Though, depending on how long it's been taking, I may contact you to ask if you think we've accomplished what we needed to. I like the get in and get out aspects as much as the nitty gritty forty comment epic poems. But, short answer, yes.
ACTION VS. PROSE.. Action more often than prose, but in the log community, prose usually wins out. It all does depend.
THREADJACKING.. If it won't be a fifty comment back and forth between you and the other character, sure, or, unless it's clearly a mingling type network post, then, fine.
FOURTH WALLING & CANON PUNCTURE.. No fourth wall-ing. I'm sure there's a mental block set in place. Canon puncturing by request. He's had history with doppelgängers, he won't know how to handle looking like someone else, either.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS.. Just warn. I'm alright with most. I may come to you about being uncomfortable. But, it is a horror game, too.

compulsion: the ability to manipulate someone's mind into doing what you want, whether that be forcing someone to walk away, give them something, or forget something entirely (like that they met you at all).

*Alaric isn't a heavy compulsion user, but when necessary he will, especially as he gets more comfortable. It's a part of being a vampire. Compulsion will always be discussed OOC'ly before being implemented. Compulsion is simple: eye contact is made, the irises dilate and voila.
